Some social media platforms have an option for users to be able to see who viewed their profiles. This option is very important to many users because most people would wish to know who viewed their profiles, either out of sheer curiosity or for other reasons. Platforms like LinkedIn have an option for users to see who viewed their profiles, and this option comes in handy for the users.
Facebook, however, which is one of the most popular social media sites, does not have an inbuilt option despite scandals like the Cambridge Analytica scandal. If you wish to know who viewed your profile, however, there are ways you can do that without having to wait till when Facebook decides to add an option to that effect. You can see who viewed your profile on Facebook if you make use of the following steps. The first method involves using a social profile view chrome extension, and it is the easiest way of knowing who viewed your Facebook profile.
The first thing you are to do using this method is to install a social profile view chrome extension. You can install one from the Google chrome Web store. After downloading it, you will be directed to the extension page. Click on the “add to chrome button” so that the download and installation process will be completed.
Next, visit www.facebook.com and login to your account using your username and password.
On the blue notification bar on top of your page, you will see that a new link named “visitors” has been added to it. Each time someone opens your Facebook timeline, you will get a notification.
Another method with which you can check who viewed your profile on Facebook is with the use of initialchatfriendslist. To use this method, you will need to do the following:
- Log into your Facebook account by inputting your username and password into the allotted slots.
- Go to your profile page and right-click on the page.
- Choose “view page source” from the drop-down menu that would appear once you right-click on the page.
- Press Ctrl + F to open the search bar.
- Type “initialchatfriendslist” into the search bar, and you would be directed to another page that would show you the identities of those who viewed your profile the most.
The IDs from the page source would appear as numbers in between quotation marks. These numbers are useless to you, except you know what to do with them. To make sense of the IDs, copy them, minus the quotation marks and paste them in a browser search box after you have pasted www.facebook.com/. For instance, if the ID is 000000000000000, you would copy the number into a browser search box in this manner, www.facebook.com/000000000000000. Once you search it, you’ll be directed to the person’s account, and you will be able to see who it is that has viewed your Facebook profile.
The IDs are arranged in order from the person who visits your profile most to the person who visits it least. To get the best results with this method, you should make use of google chrome as opposed to other browsers.
